These are all things that have tried to steal my joy this week!

Each thing on the list had it’s own set of challenges.

Each one provided a choice for me to make about how I would let it shape me. Stuff will continue to happen that challenges our happiness. Nothing that happens has to make you behave badly. You choose.

We all make choices every day. We take for granted our ability to reason through the options and make an informed choice.

For people with impaired executive function choices are incredibly challenging. Kids in foster care often have impaired executive function. I saw this in action this week and was astounded by the challenge it presented.

So I am thankful that I am able to make choices… even when they are challenging.

I choose to celebrate!
